The bulbs will readily naturalize and produce abundant seed. Pumilum release a powerful fragrance into the air. The flowers are scarlet red, with scarcely a dot or blemish on them that could dim their radiance. They are graceful and produce a very long lasting flower. Pumilum bloom in mid summer. This plant is terrific in flower borders and it is suitable for containers. The Lily 'Pumilum', 'Lilium Pumilum', a fall planted bulb, produces great tiers of exuberant little flowers that burst on the scene in early to mid summer.
